Task 2:

Week 2: An interview with a local historian to give us more information on the Norman castle in Leighlinbridge.

Listen to our Norman soldier to find out what are task for this week is:

Preparing for our historian.

  1. Make sure that we are all familiar with our groups and what aspect of the Normans our group is focusing on today.
  2. Firstly we must have background information on the different aspects of the Normans before the historian comes to visit.
  3. There are websites available for us to search on the resource page of our blog.
  4. While you are gathering information make sure to be thinking of ENQUIRY QUESTIONS to ask our local historian we will need all the information we can get for our task next week.
  5. But remember it is quality not quantity.

Maybe this will help us think of some questions.

A Little Reminder:

When we are using a dictaphone we must make sure that:
  1. Everyone around the dictaphone is not making unecessary noise so we will be able to clearly here the important information.
  2. It is not placed too far away from the person who is speaking so that it can pick up the voice clearly.
  3. We all know how to start recording on the dictaphone and how to stop recording on the dictaphone so we get all the important information.

I am sure that everybody can remember how to use audacity from when we used it earlier in the year but if you can't here is a little reminder.

                                            Task

  • You must upload the material that you recorded during your interview with the historian onto your group laptop.
  • You will be using audacity to cut and edit your material.
  • Each group must cut and edit the interview so that your interview will only contain information relevant to the topic you were focusing on during the course of this interview.
  • This means that every group will have a different aspect of the interview edited on audacity.
  • This is a difficult task so do not be afraid to ask for help.
  • The information that you are left with at the end of this task will be important for next weeks lessons.
  • Don't forget to take your time, work as a team and do it to the best of your ability.

Please make sure to check your work before you finish.
